Firm dark red. Very smoky/toasty/oaky plum/prune fruit backed up by herbs and spice including liquorice and sarsaparilla. Soft, smooth, easy tannins. The heart of the Prohibition in America was 1924 when it was illegal to consume alcohol including wine. It was also the year the winery first planted vineyards in California and farmed grapes that were sold to friends. The 1924 brand is owned by Gnarly Head, itself owned by the Delicato Family who had emigrated from Italy to America
