Chateau Odilon Haut-Medoc 2018
Tasting Notes
Bright mid-red. The cherry/plum fruit is very supple and elegant. So too the silky tannins. Very harmonious, the roundness of freshness adds extra finesse to this excellent Haut-Medoc. Made predominantly from Merlot, the wine is even more delicious after decanting. Enjoyable on its own and irresistible with food. Chateau Odilon belongs to the family of the late Baron Benjamin de Rothschild, a relation of the owners of Chateau Lafite Rothschild. Formerly named Chateau Peyre-Lebade, it was renamed in honour of painter Odilon Redon who spent his childhood and most of his active life on the property
Pairings
Enjoyable on its own and delicious with stir-fried and roast pork and chicken dishes (Tandoori too). Beef and steak. And braised and roast duck, and lamb dishes. Pairs very well also with braised doufu and mushroom dishes
