Firm red colour. Blackcurrant cassis and blackberry fruit that is very eucalyptus and oaky. Smooth, easy tannins complete the palate profile. Max Schubert (1915 – 1994) joined Penfolds when just 16 years young as a messenger boy. In 1948, at 33, he became Chief Winemaker. A position he held for 28 years until 1975
