Light red colour. Delicate redberry/blackberry fruit balanced by crisp tannins. Freshness from start to finish. Very harmonious. This Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot blend is delicious on its own and excellent with food. SAGA R Medoc comes from the vineyards of Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite and those of its neighbours. Diane Flamand is the resident winemaker or oenologist at SAGA R. The brand was created in 1999 by Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite, proprietor of Pauillac First Growth Chateau Lafite Rothschild which their ancestor Baron James de Rothschild purchased on 8 August 1868 at a public auction in Paris. (Fifteen years earlier in 1853, his English cousin Baron Nathaniel de Rothchild had purchased Chateau Brane-Mouton which was later renamed Mouton Rothschild)
Pairings
Enjoyable on its own and delicious with stir-fried and roast pork and chicken dishes (Tandoori too). Beef and steak. And braised and roast duck, and lamb dishes. Pairs very well also with braised doufu and mushroom dishes
