Torres Gran Coronas Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Tasting Notes
Bright mid red colour. Blue/blackberry, cedary fruit conveyed by rich, ripe tannins and finishing freshness. Elegant and with lots of poise. The blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Tempranillo. Founded in 1870, the Torres Family’s history in winegrowing in the Penedes region of Spain travels back to the 16th Century. In 1979, a blind tasting in Paris organised by a French publication, the 1970 vintage of Torres Gran Coronas Reserva (known then as “Black Label”) was judged the top wine ahead of, including Chateau Latour and Haut-Brion
Pairings
Enjoyable on its own and delicious with stir-fried and roast pork and chicken dishes (Tandoori too). Beef and steak. And braised and roast duck, and lamb dishes. Pairs very well also with braised doufu and mushroom dishes
