Val de L’Ours Rouge Classique 2021
Tasting Notes
Mint, eucalypt, blackcurrant/blackberry fruit and rich tannins. Medium-plus bodied, the blend includes Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Mourvedre, Grenache and Marselan. This red comes from a 167-hectare vineyard in the Languedoc called Domaine d’Aussieres. Once occupied by the Romans, the first official records of Aussieres date back to 97 A.D. and attest to it being an important supplier of wine to Rome almost two thousand years ago. The estate in the South of France was acquired in 1999 by the Rothschild Family of Bordeaux’s Chateau Lafite
Pairings
Enjoyable on its own and delicious with stir-fried and roast pork and chicken dishes (Tandoori too). Beef and steak. And braised and roast duck, and lamb dishes. Pairs very well also with braised doufu and mushroom dishes
